“Bedecked”: Avocado wood vessel with mesquite collar and malachite inlay, 4.69" in diameter

I think of this as “Bead-decked,” because that’s the kind of terrible punner I am (believe me, the name could have been worse). The avocado wood comes from California. It’s a warm and sensuous wood that I would enjoy working with again. Someone described this piece as regal, said it reminded them of portraits of aristocrats with high collars and many jewels. I like the combination of the polished regality with the unfilled knots.
