“Assent, Ascent”: Soft maple bowls on a fir ladder, 7.25" wide × 19.88" high × 5" deep

This wall hanging is about accepting and rising from the remains of the past. It consists of three soft maple bowls (turned from the same piece of wood) on a burnt, sandblasted, wire-brushed fir ladder.

The bottom photo is of the piece hanging in the “Wood You Believe” show held at Details Art and Design in October 2008; the piece hanging with it is called “Permutations.”
